The best time to drink matcha is in the morning right after you get up. Citrus matcha juice is a refreshing drink that can be enjoyed as part of your morning routine. It’s also an excellent option to break a fast, or you can have it with a meal. I like citrus matcha in the hot summer days, when it’s warm outside, and I want a refreshing drink.

Good for your skin
Citrus has been proven to increase absorption of the tea, which means you get more benefits from the matcha tea. It’s high in vitamin C, which is good for your immune system. Vitamin C also regenerates collagen, which maintains your skin elasticity and keeps you looking young.
Lots of benefits
Citrus also has B vitamins, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium and copper, which are important for proper body function. They are rich in plant compounds that have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
Matcha’s benefits include anti aging, antioxidants, and weight loss. Matcha is an effective blood-sugar regulator, so you will not feel hungry after drinking it. If you already have fast metabolism, or are a little skinny, we would recommend drinking it after you eat some food.
Matcha helps to reduce stress and promote calmness and relaxation. The antioxidants in matcha neutralize free radicals and reduce inflammation that can contribute to diseases and aging.
So to keep it short, drink this citrus matcha juice and feel refreshed and awesome.

Citrus juice options
In my recipe, I use lemon juice as my citrus source. I like the way lemon tastes with sweetened tea.
You can add lemon or another citrus juice to matcha to get more benefits from the tea. Matcha is already superior for absorption compared to other green teas, but you can still add lemon or other juices for a boost of absorption.
Lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit are effective for catechin preservation when using 20-50% juice to matcha tea ratio. Cachethin is a substance found in tea that helps protect cells getting damaged from free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that are made during regular cell metabolism processes.
Other ideas for citrus juices are sweet oranges, mandarines, tangerines. These may not need as much sweetener as you would use for lemon-based citrus juice.
More rare but equally delicious citrus ideas are: citron, yuzu, ugli, Rangpur, pomelo, Buddha’s hand, and kinnow.
For each serving, you want to start with 4 ounce of fresh squeezed, non-concentrate citrus juice.
Sweetener choices
Popular sweetener choices are white sugar, honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar syrup.
Start with 2 teaspoons of sweetener then add more as needed.
If it’s too sweet, add more citrus juice.
