In this recipe, I will show you how to make strawberry boba tea.
The best strawberry boba tea uses real fruit. The artificial strawberry flavors cannot compare to real fruit because they’re usually made with all sorts of chemicals that you don’t want to be consuming regularly. You’ll get an artificial, overly fruity flavor as a result.

There are 3 ways to make this drink. You can make this with crushed strawberries, strawberry juice, or strawberry syrup. I prefer making it from prepared syrup so you can store it without taking up much space and have it whenever you want.
Since it’s a boba tea drink, we always want to know the caffeine content. I’ll show you how to make this refreshing drink with caffeine, usually using black tea, but you can use green tea or oolong tea too.
This delicious drink uses simple ingredients and can be made in a few simple steps. We will be using fresh strawberries, milk, and brown sugar syrup. You can add boba pearls as a topping, but you can also use other things such as egg pudding or grass jelly. The signature pink color comes from the strawberry mixed with milk.
This drink is similar to sweet strawberry milk tea, which has a light tea flavor. The difference is the strawberry milk tea is made with milk tea, whereas our drink is made with regular tea.

What’s so good about this drink?
That strawberry milk tastes similar to childhood, without the artificial ingredients. It’s stepped up a notch with some boba and tea. This strawberry milk tea recipe uses simple ingredients and is sweet, aromatic and fruity. The real strawberries are the main ingredients, and this is what makes it taste fresh.
Quick-cooking boba makes this really easy to enjoy.

Strawberry Syrup
We don’t use strawberry powder in this drink.
I will show you how to make the strawberry syrup, which is similar to our strawberry coulis recipe.
We will be making this with white sugar. Make sure to use an immersion blender or blender to remove evidence of the strawberry seeds.
Teas
I use tea bags. Use boiling water to steep your tea, to release maximum flavor.
Green tea bags need to be steeped for 3-5 minutes. Black tea bags need to be steeped for 3-5 minutes. Don’t let it steep longer because you’ll risk it getting bitter and astringent.
For oolong tea, steep for 1-5 minutes. Check it to see how strong you like your flavor.
I also have been liking chamomile tea to steep it in. Steep it for 5 or more minutes. It won’t get bitter with a longer steeping time.
When making the tea, you don’t need to use as much water as you usually do. I will do 2 tea bags for every 8 oz of tea, that way you get a concentrated amount of tea. You’ll want to let this cool down before adding it to the drink. That way it won’t get diluted by ice too much.
Milk of choice
This fresh strawberry milk flavor comes from a good choice of milk. I like the creamy texture of a thicker milk like oat milk.
I also like almond milk.
Whole milk, dairy milk are great options.
Coconut milk gives it a coconut taste which some people like.
Soy milk is neutral and will also taste good and a little sweet.

Boba
These tapioca pearls, or boba, have a chewy gummy bear consistency that tastes great with strawberry milk.
A quick recipe involves boiling boba for 30 minutes on low-medium heat. Coat with brown sugar to keep the boba tasting sweet.

Special equipment
You don’t need anything special to make this, but things that can help make the syrup faster is:
Immersion blender to mix the strawberries once heated
Cheese cloth or fine mesh sieve to take out any leftover strawberry seeds.
Also optional but if you have a boba straw, that would make the drinking experience great.
Other things to try
taro milk tea
matcha milk tea
lychee milk tea
What to have it with
Shaved ice. It’s really popular to have this with shaved ice because it adds new flavor to the ice.

Storing
Remember, the tapioca balls are made of tapioca flour, so they will expand and not change texture if you leave them out for too long. I would advise not to refrigerate these for later use because it will harden and also not taste good.
For the tea, enjoy within 5 hours and make sure it’s refrigerated if you’re not using it now.
Try to make this drink fresh. The advantage of preparing this drink from a syrup is that you’ll be able to make more faster if you are ever craving it. The strawberry syrup will keep up to 2 weeks in your refrigerator, keep it in an airtight container.
